Alumni Party at Mannahata (February 19th, 2005) Started at 7pm like a cocktail event where we met new Bilkent Alumni from different parts of USA, the gathering turned to a dancing party after 10pm. We started dancing to Turkish music, and continued with pop and hip-hop until early morning. This trendy lounge bar in the lower east side is certainly a good candidate for hosting our other events of this type.
Meeting with Nasuh Mahruki (November 18th, 2004) Nasuh Mahruki, a Bilkent Graduate was the special guest for Turkish Business Forum on November 18th, 2004. Nasuh has shared his experiences as a professional mountain climber, as the founder of AKUT and more importantly as a leader. He met mountaineering while he was a student at Bilkent University’s, and like many of us, Bilkent University has made a significant impact on his life.
We encourage our alumni to visit his web site for more information about his climbs, for his articles and much more.
We would like to thank Turkish Business Forum for having Bilkent Graduates.

We would also like to express our special thanks to Mrs. Inci Akkor for all her contributions and the lovely bags she brought for our raffle.
Chelsea-Pier Bowling (September 2004) It was totally a spontaneous day. Although we met for bowling, as it was one of the rare warm and cozy fall day in NYC, we decided to spend the day outside. That day there was a big street fair in NYC. We enjoyed the street fair attractions on our way to Union Square where we had a bite at Lunapark and had the chance to chat and get to know new alumni living in NY and surrounding states.
Picnic at Central Park (August 8, 2004) The graduates of Bilkent University were gathered in Central Park, NYC for an Alumni Picnic. We were 31 people with our guests and graduates. Some graduates found their old friends from Bilkent after years and they were so exited during their conversations about the past years. We played some ball games and freeze-bee. And then one of the most popular group game: sessiz sinema.
Turkish Business Forum Meeting (March 2004) Having the chance of meeting with Forum’s successful Turkish businessmen and businesswomen was an excellent opportunity for many of us to interact with the business world in NY. Building new connections, getting to know new people and finding new job opportunities were some of the aspects of the evening. Moreover, we spent the rest of the evening in an Irish Bar enjoying ourselves and the beautiful atmosphere.
Turk Evi - ITSS Meeting (February 2004) Traditional Bean and Rice day of ITSS gave us the chance to meet Turkish students from different universities. Networking was the main purpose of this meeting at Turk Evi. However, besides networking with other Turkish students from different states of America, we spent a delightful evening while watching the Tango Show and the special performance of Ozbek Dance Group.
Dinner at Turkish Kitchen (January 31, 2004) This was the biggest crowd of Bilkent alumni that came together so far in New York City. More than 50 people enjoyed delicious Turkish food by the most popular Turkish restaurant in Manhattan. This event has been a cornerstone for meetings of Bilkent alumni around NYC as it provided a good benchmark for future organizations attended by large number of people. The night continued in a lounge-bar in midtown where we joyfully danced with Turkish music.
Dinner at Turkuaz (November 22, 2003) Being together with alumni who live in Turkey and current students of Bilkent University was one of the most beautiful scenes of the evening. After having the delicious Turkish food and drinks of Turkuaz, we decided to continue enjoying the beautiful Manhattan night and went to a Bulgarian Bar.
St. MARX Café (September 2003) Spending a sunday afternoon in a cozy and warm place with new and old faces who shared similar experiences at Bilkent University gave us the feeling of being at home. The seeds of strong friendships continued to grow in St. Marx and gave way to our next meeting, a dinner at Turkuaz Restaurant.
